One Way to Build Confidence This Week

We explore what confidence means and the one change you can make to build confidence today.

Confidence is belief in oneself. In order to be confident one must be realistic in their capabilities and secure in their knowledge.

So in order to increase confidence, we need to be realistic with ourselves.

The number one way I have found to do this is to set realistic goals and hit them. Each time a goal is hit it builds your confidence bank.

Let’s take an example of one of my goals, which is to Doordash less. I know if I just say I’m not going to Doordash for a month, I likely won’t make this and will break my word with myself. When I break my word I’m going to lose confidence. So let’s reframe this and get specific

Realistic goal ideas:

  • Cooking dinner 1 night a week for a month

  • Order food directly from the website and walk to pick it up for 2 weeks

  • Doordash 1 day less a week than average for a month

These goals are attainable, measurable and easy to achieve. Each time a goal is met confidence will grow and this increase can expand to more areas of our lives. And…maybe the goals will even be exceeded!
